“Support the Makers – Artists, Craftsmen, Photographers, Writers, Designers, Musicians, the Self-Employed, the Individuals, the Go-Getters, and Do-It-Yourself-Ers.”

Imagination Station and The Arts Commission are excited to announce our very own Call for Makers, which is now open for the second annual Toledo Mini Maker Faire!

What is a Call for Makers?  It’s an invitation to come show your creative side at the event.  We ask you to fill out a form telling us about what you’d like to show at the Faire, so we know who you are and we can keep track all of you, and we choose as many as we can fit to exhibit on September 21, 2019. We are truly looking for makers of all ages!

What is a maker? By definition, a maker is someone or something that produces or makes things. We invite you to apply to be a maker and tell us about whatever you make or do that you’re passionate about, as long as it’s something you can easily share with others. Do you make something robotic? Or do you weld metals together to form unique art? Maybe you create lotions and soaps in your own home. Maybe your exhibit is interactive or just highlights the process for making, either way, we want you to apply! We want you to be able to show-and-tell your projects and learn about new opportunities!

Your Mini Maker Faire submission can be a display of something you’ve done, an activity you offer to do with visitors, a performance or workshop, or other forms of making!

As you prepare to apply, here are somethings to keep in mind:

  • Be descriptive as possible
  • Think about what your exhibit space will require to run
  • Provide good photos or video content, if available
  • Ask questions if you’re not sure about something, contact us

The Call for Makers is now open, but don’t wait to submit your exhibit. And don’t wait to tell your friends all about the first Toledo Mini Maker Faire!
